There is something magnetic about the negative news these days. Why is it that so many of us are drawn to it?

Our country is in a crisis, schools are closed, jobs are influx, and the future is uncertain.
So how are people responding?

We are struggling. We are gaining weight, we are ignoring our best laid plans, we are skipping workouts, overeating, overdrinking and feeling blah.
Lately, my clients have been coming to me and they want help to stop these behaviors. They want to work on getting focused and motivated.

One of the biggest challenges in any career is how to stay focused, motivated, and avoid frazzle, or even worse burnout.
Over the next few weeks, I will tackle each of these challenges separately. Today, I want to focus on burnout.

As humans we often spend a significant amount of our time frustrated with those around us. We rant and rave at them in our heads. We boil beneath forced smiles. For so many of my clients, their most common emotions are anger and frustration.
How do we keep those emotions at bay?

We have all had those moments were our brain is directed toward a particular item/realization/thought and suddenly your world is filled with evidence to support that thought. Can we leverage our brains to create more or what we want?

The first step in changing how you think about your past is actually facing your past. Taking a long and hard look at it. You can’t think differently about something or change your perspective on life events if you don’t first take a look at those events and how you are thinking about them.

One of the inevitable results of being a grownup in this world is that you will often be faced with the “opportunity” to have difficult conversations with other humans.
